Tracing Gaudi

I have always dreamed of traveling to Barcelona to see the work of one of the designers who inspired me and many others to chose architecture as my profession. The city is inundated with incredible architecture, old and new. A few hours of walking through the city streets and you might stumble upon buildings designed by some of the worlds finest contemporary architects. For me the most incredible building in Barcelona, and perhaps in the world, is found in the Sagrada Família neighborhood. Antoni Gaudí began working on the design of The Basílica i Temple Expiatori de la Sagrada Família in 1883. over 100 years later it is still under construction, and is estimated to be completed in the year 2026. Despite the construction taking place in and around the structure, the architecture is incredibly striking. I spent nearly half a day looking upward, marveling at the unfathomable structure that enclosed me. I have never seen or experienced anything quite like it in my life.
